Poco después de mudarme a los Estados Unidos empecé a darme cuenta que en varias ocasiones en las que miraba el reloj la hora que marcaba eran las 9:11. Este detalle recurrente me pareció extraño, ya que esa configuración numérica ya no inocente.
Una sincronicidad negativa, que nos muestra que la emergencia y el desastre están siempre latentes hoy en día, flotando en nuestra mente.
Comencé a fotografiar estos encuentros en agosto del 2011, y tuve varios de ellos. Sólo en trece ocasiones reaccioné lo suficientemente rápido para registrar fotográficamente el encuentro con el número. Cuando regresé a México este fenómeno cesó.

After a year in the U.S., I started noticing the clock showed 9:11 on display recurrently, becoming a frequent encounter. I found this recurrence strange since that numeric configuration is not an innocent one anymore.

Not the best kind of synchronicity possible, since it shows that emergency and disaster are permanently in our minds nowadays.

I began photographing these coincidences in August 2011. Only thirteen times did I react rapidly enough to capture my encounters on film. Since I moved back to Mexico, they stopped happening.
